Downham, Essex.
A well maintained and in cast iron of uncertain date. The column is unusual having been cast with a spiral finish surmounted with a ringed ball. The assumption is that the post was privately erected by a past owner of "The Grange", Downham. It is not shown on c.1881 O.S. 6" maps when "The Grange" was known as "Hill Farm".
